Christie Property Solutions
Welcome to Christie Property Solutions –
Your Trusted Experts in Building Insurance Claims and Surveying
At Christie Property Solutions (CPS), we take the stress out of building insurance claims.
Whether you’re a homeowner or business owner, we represent you, not the insurance company. Our job is to make sure you get what you’re entitled to, with no shortcuts, no confusion, and no compromise.
If your home or business has suffered damage from a fire, flood, storm, impact, or another insured event, we’re here to step in and manage the entire claims process for you. We’ll assess the damage, create a detailed Schedule of Works, and negotiate directly with your insurer to ensure your property is reinstated properly, just as your policy promises.
Feeling unsure about your insurance claim? Don’t go it alone.
Many property owners feel overwhelmed or misled when dealing with insurers. If you are not sure if you are receiving the truth or full coverage for what your insurance policy covers you for, or you’re simply unsure where to start. That’s exactly why CPS exists, we can assist you. We work independently and only for you, providing clear assessments, technical surveying, and expert contract administration to protect your interests.
A building insurance claim is made when your property suffers damage from unexpected events, known as perils. These might include:
Escape of Water
Fire
Smoke
Storm
Impact
Explosion
Malicious Damage
Subsidence
We specialise in managing these claims, from initial assessment through to final repairs.
What is a building claim?
Smaller claim? We can still help.
Here’s the truth: insurers often appoint their own surveyors or loss adjusters, who work for them, not you. Their aim is to keep costs down. Ours is to ensure you get what you’re owed.
By choosing CPS as your independent surveyor, you’re putting someone in your corner who understands the fine print of your policy, and fights to make sure the Schedule of Works includes everything you need to restore your property fully.
Better still, for claims typically over £25,000, your insurance often covers the cost of our professional fees.
Why appointing your own surveyor matters
Even if your claim is under £25,000, we can assist. Insurers may ask for photos and builder quotes, but most local builders aren’t trained in insurance processes. This can lead to missing key elements like drying, temporary accommodation, or matching finishes.
Let us handle it professionally and avoid costly mistakes.

Our
Services
-
Surveying, Inspection Reports & Validation
We attend your property shortly following the peril event (or when you decide you need assistance), thoroughly inspect and survey the building for all insurance related damage, ensuring all damage, further risks, mitigation and building regulations that apply are not missed and are dealt with diligently and professionally. We provide evidence-based inspection reports identifying insured damage, making recommendations to you and the insurer on protocol to follow to move forward with the claim requirements.
-
Schedule of Works
Following our initial survey report, we compile a detailed Schedule of Works (SOW), tailored to insurance criteria, ensuring that all the repairs that your policy cover is in place for, is included. We then issue the SOW to you and insurers for approval of its content. Our experience, knowledge and relationship with insurers forms a crucial step of your insurance claim.
-
Contractor Nomination, Estimating & Tendering
This step of the claim is where either insurers, yourself or our contractor network (or sometimes all 3 parties) nominate typically a contractor to bid and cost SOW, this is known as estimating or competitive tendering. Generally, 3 contractor tender returns are requested by insurers, however on large loss claims, insurers may request 4 contractor returns for greater competitiveness. Once contractor’s costs are received by CPS, these are reviewed and we raise any queries that may be necessary to ensure that the costs are checked, competitive, commercially viable and conform to any time restraints that may need to be considered on the claim. On completion of tendering, we issue a Tender Report which recommends the approval of one of the contractors tender return costs and is passed to insurers to approve.
-
Project Management & Contract Administration.
Upon insurer approval and your agreement for us to formally appoint a contractor to carry out the work, we act as Contract Administrators, whereby we hold a pre-contract meeting (PCM), issue meeting minutes, attending the property during work at intervals for example when a new roof is installed on brickwork is complete. Furthermore, at stages when contractors require stage payments for work completed to date (known as Valuations), throughout the progress of work being carried out to check quality of work, near to completion to identify any snagging required and on completion to sign off the project.
The alternative option you have instead of CPS formally managing a contractor on site, is for the approved contractor sums to be paid out in full to you, known as a cash settlement, whereby you can then manage the repairs yourself. Either decision you choose, we fully support to ensure the best outcome for you, your family or business is achieved.
